
Children today are navigating a world that asks more of them than ever before. While physical health is often prioritized, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellness are just as essential to a child’s development.
Children are absorbing parental stress, lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, social media influence, academic pressures, and a fast-paced world that rarely slows down for processing. These experiences can show up as anxiety, emotional overwhelm, difficulty with focus and executive functioning, social withdrawal, or behavioral challenges. Often, children do not yet have the language to explain what they are carrying—their bodies express what their words cannot.
Now more than ever, children need supportive spaces where they can learn how to regulate, express, and understand themselves.
The Children’s Wellness Program at Just Heal Counseling was intentionally created to support the emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being of children. Our approach recognizes that wellness is not just about managing behavior—it’s about helping children feel safe in their bodies, connected to their emotions, and confident in who they are.
The lingering impact of the pandemic has affected children’s social development and sense of connection. At the same time, increased exposure to social media, global stressors, and traumatic events can lead to secondary trauma that children internalize within their minds and bodies.
Our program integrates meditation, expressive movement, healing arts, play-based therapies, and communal healing experiences as gentle, developmentally appropriate ways for children to release stress, build resilience, and reconnect with themselves.
Designed for children ages 4–12, the Children’s Wellness Program offers intentional experiences that nurture regulation, self-expression, and emotional balance—providing children with tools they can carry with them for life.
A WHOLE CHILD APPROACH TO WELLNESS
We believe wellness works best when the whole child is supported—mind, body, and spirit. What children eat can affect how they feel, focus, and regulate their emotions. Nutrition plays an important role in a child’s ability to learn, manage stress, and feel balanced.
Our program approaches nutrition from a wellness-informed and educational lens, recognizing it as a meaningful part of children’s overall well-being while honoring the importance of collaboration with qualified nutrition professionals.
Focused on improving executive functioning skills, this program supports children in areas like planning ahead, setting and meeting goals, self-control, impulse management, and following multi-step directions.
This program helps kids learn to regulate their emotions, enhance distress tolerance, and navigate anxiety. It's perfect for children who may feel overwhelmed with the start of the school year.
This program supports kids in emotional regulation while focusing on being present in the moment and reducing self-judgment. Activities include guided imagery, breath work, and expressive play and art therapies, all designed to help children find calm and clarity.
Aiming to strengthen the mind-body connection, this program helps children manage anxiety, boost self-esteem, and improve concentration and memory. It also promotes physical strength, flexibility, discipline, and reduced impulsivity through engaging yoga practices.
Our group therapy programs are available under the Children’s Wellness Group Package, with flexible options to meet your child's needs. Parents can sign their children up for individual groups, and we also offer options for homeschooled children upon inquiry.
