Welcome to our counseling newsletter! We are thrilled to share with you the latest developments in our mission to make a positive impact in our community.
We often forget that children need more than just physical health - they require emotional and spiritual wellness, too! Our kids are navigating parental stress, ongoing effects of COVID, social media influences, and the demands of returning back to school! These unique psychosocial pressures can manifest into an overwhelm that often presents as anxiety, executive dysfunction, emotional distress, social withdrawal, and various other behavioral challenges. Now more than ever, it’s necessary to provide children with the tools to process.
We are proud to introduce our new Children’s Wellness program which prioritizes the emotional, spiritual, and mental wellness of children!
The lingering effects of the COVID pandemic have influenced children’s socialization or lack thereof. The growing influence of social media continues to further the issues revolving around media consumption, which is also evident even in adults. The witnessing of traumatic events and politicized violence also aid to secondary trauma that children internalize within their mind and bodies.
Meditation, healing arts, expressive movement, play therapies, and communal healing serves as holistic methods for children to obtain a release. Our new children’s wellness program has been curated to support children ages 4-12 in engaging in outlets that prioritize mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness.
Focused on improving executive functioning skills, this program supports children in areas like planning ahead, setting and meeting goals, self-control, impulse management, and following multi-step directions.
This program helps kids learn to regulate their emotions, enhance distress tolerance, and navigate anxiety. It's perfect for children who may feel overwhelmed with the start of the school year.
This program supports kids in emotional regulation while focusing on being present in the moment and reducing self-judgment. Activities include guided imagery, breath work, and expressive play and art therapies, all designed to help children find calm and clarity.
Aiming to strengthen the mind-body connection, this program helps children manage anxiety, boost self-esteem, and improve concentration and memory. It also promotes physical strength, flexibility, discipline, and reduced impulsivity through engaging yoga practices.
Our group therapy programs are available under the Children’s Wellness Group Package, with flexible options to meet your child's needs. Parents can sign their children up for individual groups, and we also offer options for homeschooled children upon inquiry.
